Blogging requires two crucial things, good planning and the motivation to achieve the target. That’s it. You’re ready to start your journey in the blogging world.
Basic requirements for blogging:
1. Website:
To start blogging, all you need is a website. It’s an online space where you can post your content. As a beginner, you can use Blogger (a CMS from Google) or WordPress.com. Both of them are available free of cost.
These free services come with software tools that balance value, quality, and ease of use. They provide easy-to-use and advanced functionality compared to other content management systems (CMS). Neither Blogger nor WordPress does require any coding skill to create a website or blog. Some of these can help the creators to produce blogs that are as high-tech and complete as full-blown websites.
2. Niche:
A niche is a topic in which a blogger (a person who writes a blog) specializes. Choosing a specific blog niche is an important matter. You can guess a blog’s niche by reading some articles on that particular blog. Sometimes micro-niches are required to gain a boost in search engines. Select a blog niche that can attract some people (or traffic) to your blog. Keep in mind blogging is also a way to express yourself. In some cases, if the visitors can relate themselves to your content, then they may revisit your blog. Choose a specific niche that suits you.
3. Content:
There’s one sentence that you have to follow. It is The Content Is The God. Every time a visitor visits your blog and reads your article, you get traffic. But there is no certainty that the visitor will revisit your site. It depends upon the value of the content you have provided in your article. Everyone loves to read content-rich articles. Your visitors will reconsider visiting your website if it can provide some value. In this way, you’ll get more traffic. That article may also get a chance to rank on the search engine results. So, you have to become a good content writer to become a pro-blogger.
4. Media:
Media is a part of the article that can provide relevancy and visual elaboration. It generally comes under content. But in most cases, it plays a crucial role in user experience and SEO. Reading a long article without any graphical presentation or descriptive demo can bore us. You have to link or upload images, videos, or infographics related to your content. So that one can easily understand the concept or topic of the article.
5. SEO:
Search Engine Optimization or SEO is a process of getting traffic from free, organic, editorial, or natural search results in search engines. It aims to improve the position of a website on search results pages. Always remember the higher the website is listed, the more people will see it. Thus It can help your sites to grow.
If you’re starting your journey in blogging, then at least follow these five practices.
- Write content-rich articles and avoid too many grammatical or spelling errors.
- Use the relevant keywords with good search traffic potential.
- Create backlinks from high-quality sites.
- Avoid spamming on any site.
- Use an SEO plugin or software like Rank Math or Yoast SEO.
It has some learning curves. There are many things to know about SEO. Let’s talk about that in detail later on.
